How to reach us
We are a small independent publication. We don’t have a phone number, a chatbot, or a 24/7 support team. We do read every email.
The fastest way to reach us is by email. Different inquiry types go to different addresses to keep things organized — pick the one that matches your message.
General inquiries
Questions about the site, calculators, or content. Reader feedback. Suggestions.
Corrections & data accuracy
Spotted an error? Have a verified correction? We update our work in response to substantive corrections.
Press & research inquiries
Journalists, researchers, and academics: we make our datasets available for citation. Request data here.
Veterinary professionals
Vets, technicians, and veterinary researchers: methodology feedback, breed-specific data corrections, professional review offers.
What to include in your email
We respond faster when emails contain enough context to act on. The most useful emails include:
- For corrections: The URL of the page in question, the specific claim or figure you’re challenging, and your source for the correction. Verified corrections are processed within 7 business days. Anonymous corrections without sources are not actioned.
- For data requests: What dataset you want, what you plan to do with it, and any deadline you’re working against. We provide our breed cost data, methodology details, and analytical results to journalists and researchers free of charge with proper attribution.
- For methodology questions: Specifically what you want to understand. We’re happy to walk through the math behind any calculator or analysis, but we can’t do this without knowing what specifically you’re trying to verify.
- For breed requests: The breed name, your country, and any specific reason it should be prioritized (e.g., regional popularity, specific health concern). We add new breeds quarterly based on demand.
What we cannot help with
We get questions of these types regularly. We aren’t able to help with any of them:
- Specific medical questions about your pet. We are not veterinarians. Please consult your actual veterinarian for medical questions, no matter how general they seem.
- Personalized financial advice. We are not licensed financial advisors. Our calculators provide analytical estimates, not advice. Consult a qualified financial advisor for personalized planning.
- Insurance company recommendations. We deliberately don’t recommend specific insurers. Our analysis stops at "is insurance worth it." Plan comparison is a different question we don’t answer.
- Disputes with your insurance company. We don’t intervene in claim disputes. State insurance regulators handle these.
- Affiliate or partnership proposals. Our editorial independence policy prohibits insurance affiliate relationships. Other partnerships are evaluated case-by-case but we rarely accept them.
Mailing address
For postal correspondence (rare, but occasionally necessary for legal or formal documentation):

[Mailing address available upon request via email]
We don’t publish a physical address publicly because of unsolicited mail issues. If you need our mailing address for verifiable legal or business purposes, request it via the appropriate email above and we’ll provide it.
Response time expectations
We’re a small operation and we don’t artificially inflate response time promises. Here’s honest expectations:
- Press inquiries with deadlines: usually within 24 hours during business days, often faster
- General inquiries: 2-3 business days, sometimes longer during holidays
- Corrections: 7 business days for verified corrections; longer if we need to research the issue
- Veterinary professional review: 3-5 business days, longer if we’re coordinating updates across multiple pages
We don’t respond to: spam, partnership pitches, link insertion requests, guest post offers, "I’ve identified backlink opportunities" emails, or any communication that begins with "Dear sir/ma’am, I hope this email finds you well." If your email reads like a template, it goes straight to filters.
